City Council President Eric Garcetti's office and the Metro, along with the California Department of Transportation, the Los Angeles Department of Transportation, and the LAPD, are all partners in this important transportation corridor that serves those on foot, on bikes, in private cars, in commercial trucks, on Local and Rapid buses, and on Metro Rail.

The Route

hollywood route 66 - routeThe East Hollywood Route 66 Task Force is committed to encouraging the local community to participate in the civic engagement journey, first by identifying and working with the many civic partners, and then by embarking on community projects that address public safety, public works, public health, public education, and public service opportunities.

From simply cleaning the streets and sidewalks to creating public art that celebrates the Route 66 legacy, from educational campaigns that build on the Route 66 legacy to neighborhood watch programs that result from the civic engagement process, the Route 66 Task Force connects the legacy of the past to the potential of the future.
